Chives are the hollow stems of a perennial, bulbous plant of the lily family. The name "Chives" is derived from the Latin cepa, meaning onion.
Used in cold or hot soups, stir-fried items, cheese and cream sauces, dips, potatoes, deviled eggs and as a garnish. Chives are milder than the larger onion and will not over power fish. Add chives when cooking is finished.
